Happy Bright Colored Friday

Posted on: No Comments

I don’t know about you but Friday is such a fun day! We are  tying things up in the office for  rehearsal dinners and weekend events and it puts everyone in a celebratory mood. Today we wanted to share that fun with you, and  send something bright to our friends up north. We know there is a winter storm headed your way and hope this tiny bit of bright brings the sun inside.

I absolutely love this look for a bridal party, or even fashionista inspired Bat Mitzvah. If you haven’t noticed from my previous posts, I am a little obsessed with solid color dresses right now. The guest of honor would look fabulous in this hot pink gown with back bow detail. Flowers in shades of pink, yellow, blue and pops of orange would compliment the decor and bring a smile to everyones face. How fun is this cake, and don’t forget to give guests a sneak peek of what they are in for with a hot pink invitation with gold calligraphy! Of course we had to throw in a gold, glitter wand – because every girl is always a princess.

Neon and Neutral Kids Party

Posted on: No Comments

Let’s face it, it’s summer! Although I do not have kids of my own I know it can sometimes be a challenge to keep them entertained. Today I have a solution for you; a neon and neutral themed kids party! Who says it has to be someones birthday to have a party. This is bright, fun, DIY and very budget friendly. Start by printing the party information on craft paper and sending it to friends in a neon envelope. Next, make this fun neon chandelier to hang in the house along with cut out words. I love using craft paper to wrap around tall cylinders and cover with neon tape for accents. Group carnations and ranunculus together for your centerpiece and add a neon painted number to the table to complete your place setting. This new trend of dipping flatware into paint is awesome for your place setting as well. (This video clip we posted last week from the Martha Stewart show, featuring Bryan Rafanelli, shows you how to DIY dipped flatware.) Pull those mason jars out of grandma’s cabinet, tie a fun neon string around then and complete with a paper straw. To keep the kids busy give them some cardboard, neon tape and markers and let them make their own neon town. Serve bright snacks like pink lemonade with bananas and oranges, then throw in a brightly iced cupcake for fun! Wha-lah your party is ready to throw! Happy Summer!

A Sunset Easter

Posted on: 6 Comments

Yesterday’s Easter palate was all about the pastels, and today the sunset is our Easter inspiration. If you can’t tell I love coral and every color in it’s color family, so today’s board was really fun for me to make. I love this Martha Stewart table with baskets full of tulips and crisp white linen napkins. Who says cake is only for a wedding? This stripe cake is a personal favorite and fits this Easter celebration perfectly. Match your drinks to your color scheme by making this sangria for the adults and vintage soda for the kiddos. These homemade favor bags, egg banner and invitations with craft paper tie your theme together. Add some balloons to the mailbox for everyone to see where the celebration is! Happy Easter Week!

Real Event: Jayde’s Sweet 13

Posted on: 5 Comments

I was so excited when I got a message a few weeks ago to help with a very special sweet 13th birthday party! What I love, maybe the most, about my job is never doing the same thing twice. My clients are all so different and it’s so fun to bring out their personalities in their fun events! Jayde is a very girlie 13 year old who loves pink and dancing. (Side note: she is on a competitive dance team out of California. How awesome is she!) I knew her day should be just as fun as she is, and what is more fun than candy! Cookiedoodle Cookies, my favorite cookie place, created these adorable lollypop cookies, I put together these fun M&M’s and candy bars and The Inviting Place created the custom wrappers and bag tags for the favors. Don’t forget the cake! Ms. Laura’s Cakes created this adorable sweet 13 cake and even turned my crazy cupcake request into reality! The Rock Out Bubble Blowers were pink lemonade cupcakes with gum balls and pop rocks and the Sparkling Sugared Sunshine cupcakes were orange cupcakes with candied oranges! DJ Express Oklahoma played the beats and Duet Photobooth was busy all night long snapping great pictures for guests! Thank you to the team at The Mayo Hotel! The staff, room and food was perfect for the evening! A big thank you goes out to the entire creative team for Jayde’s special day! Also, thank you Jayde and your family for allowing me to design and surprise you with such a fun night! I hope year 13 is your best year yet!
