Flattering or Flop Friday Vol.1

Posted on: 2 Comments

If you are our Facebook friend you know that every Friday is Flattering of flop Friday! So, I figured why not start blogging a fabulous look for our image! This week we featured this Lazaro gown that has a little ruffle, a little lace and a little bling and wanted to hear your thoughts about the look. (Head over to our Facebook fan page to tell us if it’s Flattering or a Flop.)

What do you think of our first FFF blog post? The orange light behind the gown brings Spring to mind and with the clocks springing forward this weekend we love  the warmth of this board! Fruit is our new obsession and we have a few brides loving orange this season! From the hanging chandelier to cocktail, cake and bouquet we are ready for spring!

Happy Friday and Happy Weekend!

Happy Bright Colored Friday

Posted on: No Comments

I don’t know about you but Friday is such a fun day! We are  tying things up in the office for  rehearsal dinners and weekend events and it puts everyone in a celebratory mood. Today we wanted to share that fun with you, and  send something bright to our friends up north. We know there is a winter storm headed your way and hope this tiny bit of bright brings the sun inside.

I absolutely love this look for a bridal party, or even fashionista inspired Bat Mitzvah. If you haven’t noticed from my previous posts, I am a little obsessed with solid color dresses right now. The guest of honor would look fabulous in this hot pink gown with back bow detail. Flowers in shades of pink, yellow, blue and pops of orange would compliment the decor and bring a smile to everyones face. How fun is this cake, and don’t forget to give guests a sneak peek of what they are in for with a hot pink invitation with gold calligraphy! Of course we had to throw in a gold, glitter wand – because every girl is always a princess.

Obsessed with Orange Ombre

Posted on: 2 Comments

When I saw this gorgeous shoot from Jasmine Star I knew I had to blog about this fabulous dress! It seems this Fall I am even more obsessed with pumpkin, spices and the color orange more than before, which may be why I can’t stop staring at this dress! Jasmine’s post is organic and beautiful, but I wanted to find a new setting for this gorgeous orange ombre gown. Enter the non-traditional bride. How fabulous would a bride look with this purple bouquet walking down this row of trees with her father! Of course cake makes everything more sweet and this one mimics the brides dress perfectly. Who’s ready to get married, because I’m ready to finish designing this wedding!

Let’s Go Oklahoma City Thunder

Posted on: No Comments

Unless you have been living under a rock (a very big rock) you know that Oklahoma City has a sports team that’s kind of a big deal. The OKC Thunder have turned OKC into the “Loud City” and for a good reason. With a sweep in the first round, and a battle back in the second round the Thunder have become bigger than just OKC. With viral videos like “Beard like Harden” and “Call Him KD” and Facebook pages like “Oklahoma City Thunder” OKC has a national presence. Tonight is the first night of the finals and the Thunder are playing the Heat! Today we are showing our support for the blue and orange! Let’s go OKC!

Neon and Neutral Kids Party

Posted on: No Comments

Let’s face it, it’s summer! Although I do not have kids of my own I know it can sometimes be a challenge to keep them entertained. Today I have a solution for you; a neon and neutral themed kids party! Who says it has to be someones birthday to have a party. This is bright, fun, DIY and very budget friendly. Start by printing the party information on craft paper and sending it to friends in a neon envelope. Next, make this fun neon chandelier to hang in the house along with cut out words. I love using craft paper to wrap around tall cylinders and cover with neon tape for accents. Group carnations and ranunculus together for your centerpiece and add a neon painted number to the table to complete your place setting. This new trend of dipping flatware into paint is awesome for your place setting as well. (This video clip we posted last week from the Martha Stewart show, featuring Bryan Rafanelli, shows you how to DIY dipped flatware.) Pull those mason jars out of grandma’s cabinet, tie a fun neon string around then and complete with a paper straw. To keep the kids busy give them some cardboard, neon tape and markers and let them make their own neon town. Serve bright snacks like pink lemonade with bananas and oranges, then throw in a brightly iced cupcake for fun! Wha-lah your party is ready to throw! Happy Summer!
